The Biofuels International expo & conference, to be held in Antwerp, Belgium this year, will host a range of speakers from well-known organisations and associations including UNICA, the European Commission, the Belgian Bioethanol Association, ePure and Bioenergy 2020.
Kyriakos Maniatis, Principal Administrator from DG Energy, part of the European Commission, will open the conference on the 16th of November by discussing the most recent developments in biofuels in Europe. Talking about advancements being made in aviation biofuel in particular, Maniatis’ presentation promises to be an insightful analysis of the European market as a whole.
Also on day one, director Alwin Kopse from the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels will discuss the newly announced certification systems and how they will help to create a more open market for biofuel trading.
Opening the conference on day two, bioenergy analyst Anselm Eisentraut from the International Energy Agency will examine new feedstock sources for biofuels, how biofuel production can be more economical and what is needed from stakeholders to improve the manufacturing process.
Also discussing economic and financing, Antonio Matinez Dalmau’s presentation on behalf of major financing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers will look at the best ways to maximise biofuels assets so that they can achieve their highest potential.
Other topics to be discussed at the conference will include cellulosic ethanol advancements, isooctane development, trade within Europe, methanol production and biorefinery construction; as well as market overviews from regions including Germany and Eastern Europe.
The 2011 event will offer delegates the opportunity for a laboratory tour at a local SGS plant. SGS are proud sponsors of Biofuels International expo & conference. In touring SGS’s state of the art laboratory, delegates will be able to obtain an overview on how biodiesel production may be optimised using latest testing methods and procedures. Biodiesel in Europe should be produced to meet EN142414 – 2008/2009 and EN15376-2011 standards which can then be blended into road fuels meeting EN590 and EN228 quality requirements.
Join us at the Biofuels International conference and expo in Antwerp on the 16-17 November to network with biofuel professionals. Limited tickets are still available.
